A native of central Florida, Chris received bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and music from Mercer University.  While in college, some close friends introduced him to the Reformed faith, and he began rethinking the Roman Catholic beliefs he had grown up with.  After completing a master’s degree in mathematics at North Carolina State University, he moved back to Florida to pursue a doctorate in mathematics at the University of Florida.  While there, he began attending Redemption OPC, and eventually became a member in 2014.  After receiving his Ph.D. in 2017, he moved to Chattanooga, and has been teaching math as a professor at Covenant College ever since.  He started attending Cornerstone OPC the first weekend after he moved to town, became a member in 2018, and was ordained as a deacon in December 2021.  He also serves as one of the piano accompanists for services, and is currently a member of both the trustees and the music committee.  He has been happily married to wife Isabel since July 2022.
